This is a one-day workshop run by Robin Snowdon (vineyard manager and winemaker for Limeburn Hill Vineyard) exploring the growing of grapes and the making of wine following Biodynamic Agriculture principles. This introductory course has now been running for 6 years and is suitable for people working with vineyards, or planning to, people working in food or hospitality who want to understand more about provenance, and anyone interested in healthy farming.

Price includes the teaching, vineyard tour, wine tasting, vegetarian lunch and refreshments.

Structure of the day

9.30-10am Arrival, welcome drink and introductions

10am - Principles of Biodynamic Agriculture

Introduction to vineyard management using biodynamic thinking

Refreshments

How to source, prepare and use biodynamic preparations with examples

Lunch (please let us know of any dietary requirements)

A tour of the vineyard and exploration of grape varieties, trellising systems, soil care and treatments

An introduction to biodynamic wine making with an explanation of processes (guided by Demeter certification standards)

Ends 4pm Plenty of time for questions and discussion
